1. What CPR and First Aid classes do you offer?

We offer:

  • CPR, AED & First Aid (DCDEE Approved)

  • Heartsaver CPR AED & First Aid (American Heart Association)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS – American Heart Association)

These courses are designed for child care

professionals, parents, community members,

workplaces, and healthcare professionals.

 

2. What is the difference between

CPR, AED & First Aid, HeartSaver,

and BLS?

CPR, AED & First Aid (DCDEE Approved)
Covers adult, child, and infant CPR,
AED

use, choking, and basic first aid. 

This course meets North Carolina DCDEE

equirements and must be taken in person.

Ideal for child care providers, early childhood

educators, teachers, and parents.

Heartsaver CPR AED & First Aid

(American Heart Association)
Meets AHA and OSHA workplace requirements.

Designed for non-medical professionals

who may need to respond to emergencies.

BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
Designed for healthcare professionals and

first responders. Includes high-quality CPR,

team-based response, AED use, and

medical-environment scenarios.

 

3. Which class do child care

providers need?

Most child care providers in North Carolina

are required to take CPR, AED & First Aid

(DCDEE Approved). This course includes

adult, child, and infant CPR and must be

completed in person to meet licensing requirements.

 

4. Who should take the Heartsaver

CPR AED & First Aid class?

Heartsaver is ideal for:

  • Foster parents and foster care agencies

  • Group homes and residential facilities

  • Schools and afterschool programs

  • Head Start and Early Head Start programs

  • Churches and faith-based organizations

  • Summer camps and recreation programs

  • Coaches and sports staff

  • Security personnel

  • Workplace safety teams

  • Parents and caregivers

  • Non-clinical staff in medical offices

 

5. Who should take BLS?

BLS (Basic Life Support) is required for:

  • Nurses (LPNs, RNs)

  • CNAs

  • EMTs and paramedics

  • Medical assistants

  • Dental professionals

  • Home health and hospice staff

  • Medical offices, clinics, and healthcare

  • facilities

 

6. How long are the classes?

Class length depends on whether the course is

a first-time certification, renewal, or skills-only session:

  • CPR, AED & First Aid: 2 – 3 hours

  • Heartsaver CPR AED & First Aid: 2.5 – 4 hours

  • BLS: 3.5 – 4 hours

 

7. Are the classes hands-on?

Yes. All classes include hands-on practice

using mannequins and AED trainers, along

with real-life emergency scenarios to ensure

confidence and skill mastery.

 

8. When will I receive my certification card?

Certification cards are emailed within 5 business

days after successful completion of the course.

 

9. How much do the classes cost?

  • CPR, AED & First Aid (DCDEE Approved): $50

  • Heartsaver CPR AED & First Aid (AHA): $60

  • BLS (AHA): $70

 

10. Do you offer group or on-site training?

Yes. We offer on-site training for groups of

5 or more, including:

  • Child care centers

  • Medical offices and clinics

  • Schools and afterschool programs

  • Group homes and residential facilities

  • Churches, businesses, and

  • community organizations
